I'm trying to remove the IT policy from a former corporate Bold 9700 running latest OS 5.0.0.979 so I can connect to regular email not just exchange server. JLCmder 1.9.3 installs well under Windows 7 and the 'reset to factory' command (5) appears to work and BB goes thro' its cycle but the 'locking' to exchange server mode just won't go away. Also tried full wipe and reinstall OS but no joy. What am I missing? BB appears to respond to commands from JLCmder as expected. I'm not running Desktop Manager in the background, I'm not doing a restore from backup after the reset, I'm not taking the battery out or dicking around with safe mode. Has anyone had results with a Bold 9700 and the latest OS?
Have RIM found and stopped the loophole? Any help gratefully received. John, thank you for stepping in. Yes I have a UK Vodafone 'pay-as-you-go' SIM which has been enabled for their free data service offer inserted throughout the process. The phone is locked to UK Vodafone and I'm not trying to change that. I haven't tried this without the SIM inserted.
The odd thing is that the phone seems to respond to the JLCmder exactly as expected. The menu option 'enterprise activation' is NOT enabled but in the relevant menu I still can't get the option to connect to my POP3 mail service - only an option to select an enterprise mail server.

The phone works fine with the stated SIM on phone and text. Maybe it's a SIM/service problem?
Again, any assistance gratefully received. Trying to unlock myBold 9000 from corporate IT policy. I am running the JL CMDR as 'an administrator' from my Vista laptop. I have a good usb cable connection.
I get the red screen after I select #5 'reset to factory'. After I type 'blackberry' it just goes back to the screen shot.nothing happens.
I literally just 'Reset to Factory' my Bold 9000 that had a corporate IT policy on it. Had the same problem till I realized that Desktop Manager should be running to establish connection to the phone.
Anyways, here's what I did: 1) Unplug the USB cable. 2) Plug it back in.
3) Launch Desktop Manager (if Windows didn't already auto-launch it) 4) Double-click 'JLCmder' (C: Program Files JLCmder) - The 'Windows Command Script' one. 5) Follow the on-screen instructions to Reset to Factory Settings. 3-4 minutes later, I've got a wiped and reset phone. OS still running. Ready to ship to my buyer. Best of luck! Thank you Mr.

Cmder is a tiny free software package (based on console enhancement tool 'ConEmu' and Bash-like editor 'clink') which extends the Windows command line in some very useful ways. There's tab support, for instance. If you're working in two folders, there's no need to keep typing the full path; just press Ctrl+T to create a new tab with a second session. This can easily be launched as an administrator, or another user.
Right-clicking any tab then reveals a host of interesting options: you can switch tabs to a separate window, close or restart them, take a screenshot, search for text, and much more. You get plenty of helpful keyboard shortcuts. Shift+Up moves you up to the parent directory; Alt+Enter toggles full screen on and off; Ctrl+' sends cmder to the taskbar, and brings it back; and Ctrl+Alt+2 launches PowerShell, which of course then also benefits from the other cmder features.
The real power here is probably the line editor, though. Editing text in cmder works much as it does in any other Windows applications; you can press Ctrl+V to paste from the clipboard, say, or Ctrl+Z to undo. And there are many more advanced command completion, editing and history tools waiting to be discovered. WhatsApp Messenger is the world's most popular instant messaging app for smartphones. You can use it to send and receive text and voice messages, photos, videos, even call your friends in other countries, and because it uses your phone's internet connection it might not cost you anything at all (depending on whether you'll pay data charges). It's easy to set up and use.
There's no need to create and remember new account names or pins because it works with your phone number, and uses your regular address book to find and connect you with friends who use WhatsApp already. You can talk one-to-one or in group chats, and because you're always logged in there's no way to miss messages. Even if your phone is turned off, WhatsApp will save your messages and display them as soon as you're back online. There's plenty more (location sharing, contact exchange, message broadcasting) and the app is free for a year, currently $0.99/ year afterwards. What's New in Version 2.18.21 - Bug fixes.
